Asha Pradhan is a junior at Frisco High School. She has been playing piano and singing since she was six years old, and she has been sharing that music with others almost as long. Thanks to her teachers at Centre for Musical Minds, she had many opportunities to perform piano and vocal pieces at local community events and nursing homes. Those performances became the spark for The Notes of Joy.
For Asha, the most rewarding part of the journey has been sharing music with elderly audiences: watching their faces light up with every song, talking with them, shaking their hands, and hearing their stories. She has seen how a familiar melody can bring back memories from their youth, sometimes when nothing else can.
These experiences taught her that even in the most vulnerable and challenging times, a small deed can make a big difference. That belief is what inspires Asha and the Notes of Joy team of student volunteers to keep going, and to build a culture that celebrates the joy of serving while making beautiful music.
Josephine Elinjikkal
VP of Musician Recruitment
Josephine finds and welcomes the talented musicians who make every performance possible. She recruits from music studios like Centre for Musical Minds, school orchestra and choir programs, and piano teacher networks. She also curates our repertoire of familiar favorites and prepares every new volunteer before their first show, including how to connect warmly with residents in memory care.
Eha Natu
VP of Community Partnerships
Eha is our bridge to senior living communities. She works with activity directors and life enrichment coordinators to bring Notes of Joy to new facilities. Her goal is to turn first visits into monthly traditions that residents look forward to.
Jan Elinjikkal
